Your USW Bargaining Committee continues to work hard for the unionized Forest Industry membership in USW Local’s 1-405 (Cranbrook); 1-417 (Kamloops); 1-423 (Kelowna) and 1-2017 (Prince George and Southern Cariboo) to achieve a fair collective agreement.
The employer’s position with both CONIFER (North) and the IFLRA (South) has not changed and continues to contain concessions and an inadequate wage offer.
Following rotating job action at five sites in the North and five operations in the Southern Interior in November and December, the USW Bargaining Committee will reconvene in the New Year and discuss the next steps.
The committee remains ready to return to the bargaining table should the employer decide to take their concessions off the table and negotiate a fair collective agreement.
Your USW Bargaining Committee wishes our membership a very Merry Christmas and the best of the holiday season and a very Happy New Year.
