Tina Lamarsh
Tina entered the Northern Skills Training program October 1st 2012 after successfully completing the entrance tests for Millwright apprentice at the Sawmill. Tina has not started first year of schooling at the college and wanted to upgrade her essential skills and gain more computer experience before starting the 8 week college apprentice schooling this year. Upgrading in the areas relevant to my trade is very important ‘’said Tina. When on the floor working you learning all the mechanics of the equipment, not the paper part of the trade until the college course for Millwright starts. My goal with the help of the NST program has been to be on the upper end of the learning curve so I am not struggling and more focused on the tasks while being the best I can at the trade. With the use of the computer workbook provided to me by the program my ability to sharping my essential skills without fighting to get access to my home computer is ideal. I really appreciate all the support this program has given me; it’s helped make learning more exciting and less threatening and if I can do this anyone can.
