Your bargaining committee of Janet and Christy with the Local Union in Prince George met with the company on November 2 and 3 to exchange proposals on your first collective agreement.
Over the course of those two days, we made progress laying the foundation to a solid collective agreement.
Once we have an agreement it will be sent out to all Sodexo members working at Mt. Milligan to read, review and vote on.
Some of the details we discussed are:
Non-Monetary (Language)
We have managed to work through most of the body of the collective agreement, the structure of the document and the language both sides can agree to.
Communication
Committees are being made for better communication between hourly workers and management. The intent is to meet and discuss concerns before they turn in to bigger issues. Communication and respect are top priority.
Our next meeting date is scheduled for December 1 and 2. We plan to tackle the monetary issues, including scheduling, wages, vacations and more!
