As all of you are undoubtedly aware, our Brothers and Sisters in Burns Lake have been devastated by a fire that destroyed their mill and left two dead and twenty others injured. The injuries vary from fairly minor to critical, and currently there are still Brothers in Vancouver, Victoria, Edmonton 1 Vanderhoof and Prince George who are receiving treatment for their burns and other injuries. The emotional impact on the workers, families, friends and entire community as a result of this tragedy are immeasurable.
We are asking all of our members to come together to assist those who have lost so much.
Donations to the members of Babine Forest Products can be made through a payroll deduction, and we would like to thank you in advance for your generosity during this difficult time.
In Solidarity,
United Steelworkers, Local 1-424
