The Day of Mourning has taken on a new significance for our members as we process the devastation at the Lakelands Mill only months after the horrific event at another mill in Burns Lake.
On January 20, 2012 Robert Luggi and Carl Charlie, long term employees of Babine MIll lost their lives, and this very week Glen Roach and Al Little suffered a similar fate here in Prince George, all in the line of doing their jobs. Our thought and prayers go out to their families, friends, co-workers and communities.
No one should ever have to go to work and worry about whether their safety is in jeopardy, yet that very premise has been shaken in the aftermath of two massive unexplained explosions.
April 28, 2012 is the day to mourn for the dead, and fight for the living. Show your respect and support by attending the Day of Mourning ceremonies in your community.
Day of Mourning ceremonies in Prince George will be held April 28, 2012 from 12:00 -1:00 at the Workers Memorial Statue corner of Patricia Bvld and Queensway
